The Nepalese Community of London, Ontario organized a heartfelt Candlelight Vigil for the Victims of the Plane Crash in Pokhara, Nepal. The event took place on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Victoria Park in London (ON). Approximately 150 individuals, both Nepalese and Canadian, attended this program to pay their respects and show solidarity with the families who lost their loved ones in the tragic incident.
We are honored to share that our community’s efforts were recognized and appreciated by the Mayor of London. We received an appreciation letter from the Mayor, acknowledging our organization’s commitment to organizing the vigil and standing with those affected by the plane crash. This recognition serves as a testament to our community’s compassion and unity in times of hardship.
The Candlelight Vigil provided a somber yet poignant atmosphere for attendees to come together, offer prayers, and express condolences to the grieving families. It was a solemn reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of supporting one another during times of loss and tragedy.
