New Year 2081

On April 13, 2024, the Nepalese community in London, Ontario, gathered at the Chinmaya Mandir to celebrate the arrival of the Nepalese New Year 2081. The event was filled with cultural reverence, fellowship, and joy as around 50-75 attendees came together to mark this important occasion.

The celebration began with a soul-soothing Bhajan program, where traditional devotional songs were sung, bringing a sense of spirituality and peace to the gathering. This segment allowed participants to reflect on the past year and welcome the new year with gratitude and hope, grounded in Nepalese cultural traditions. Following the Bhajan program, an Introduction session was held, providing an opportunity for community members, new and old, to introduce themselves and connect. This was a valuable moment for newcomers to meet others in the Nepalese community and learn more about local initiatives and support networks.

The event concluded with a lunch gathering, where delicious traditional Nepalese dishes were served. This shared meal not only satisfied appetites but also fostered a warm, familial atmosphere. Attendees enjoyed networking and engaging in conversations, strengthening bonds and building connections within the community.

The Nepalese New Year 2081 celebration at Chinmaya Mandir was a meaningful and vibrant occasion that combined culture, spirituality, and fellowship, embodying the unity and resilience of the Nepalese community in London, Ontario.
